Noel's 2004 pumpkins

Here are my pumpkins from 2004.  These went over pretty well, especially the dragons (which were major hits) and Sponge Bob. To access the pictures, just click on the thumbnail and then use the "back" button to return.

First, the dragons revisited

This is still my favorite, a dragon head from Ciruelo Cabral's famous picture.  Based on last year's picture, I made significant changes that led to a far better dragon.
My eastern dragon has some significant revisions as well from last year.
Here's my updated "East" meets "West" motif done in dragons.

The Vamps

I'm into Vamp movies and just had to do Nosferatu.  Unfortunately none of my neighbors knew who this was.  Ah well, I liked it anyways.
Here's a few more of him.
There is a game called Vampire - The Masquerade.  The cover of this screamed to be carved.

The fantasy pictures

This Pegasus pattern was BY FAR the toughest pattern I had done to date, both in making the pattern and in carving it.  It took about 7 hours carving time.  While I think it turnout out wonderfully, it didn't get nearly as many compliments as I expected.
The Unicorn took me about 5 hours to do.  I wasn't happy with the horn and the back legs, but everything else turned out well.  This went over pretty nicely.  Because Halloween was really hot here this year, the pumpkins wilted pretty heavily by morning.

Wife and kids pumpkins

Justin did a great sponge bob pumpkin that was definitely the hit of the evening.  He also did a pretty decent Pat.
Sarah did a really good Casper pumpkin.  Nam also did a more modern casper (from the recent movie).  These went over wonderfully.
Nam did a pumpkin of Bee (Rain), a famous Korean singer/actor/dancer.  She also did Bruce the Shark from Finding Nemo.  These looked pretty interesting next to one another.

My first fake pumpkin

I got tired of doing Scooby, but pretty much he, along with Sponge Bob is everyone's favorite.  So instead of carving him each year, I just put him to a fake pumpkin!
